Universal Tray

I love trays! They can be so universal. This one cost me less than $2. I bought the frame at a garage sale. Fits about 11x14 size photo. It came with plexi glass vs. glass. Bonus! Got my wheels turning. I knew it would be perfect for a universal tray. And, hold up to my rowdy three little ones. The frame cost me $1 at a garage sale. I bought a few sheets of scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby on half price sale. Used two sheets at .30 cents a sheet. Not bad. Covered the picture area with paper before spraying. Sprayed the whole frame black gloss paint. Waited till it dried and sanded and roughed up the edges. Then Using the plexiglass as a template I placed it on my scrapbook paper to get the right pattern I wanted. Note to everyone: make sure your scrapbook paper has a repeatable pattern. Mine did not, but made it work anyway. I choose a black and white pattern. The most neutral and exciting at the same time. It will look great with fall pumpkins, Christmas red and green, Valentine pink, you name it will be fun. I love how neutral black and white can be. But the best things about trays are the universal ways for display. Use as a decorative tray, for serving food, propped up on a plate rack for decor, used in a bathroom to hold necessities. If I get bored I can still hang it on the wall. The uses are endless!

Thanks for visiting. I will be posting this on Southern Hospitality's Thrifty Finds at http://southernhospitalityblog.com/yardsales-once-again/.
